What is PaintPDF's checklist generator?
PaintPDF's checklist maker turns a routine into a printable A4 checklist: a title and a one-line purpose, a two-column table with an item and a done box for each step, and a notes line for who completed it and when. Edit it by chatting. Free to start, no watermark.

Everything a checklist needs
A checklist is used in the moment, often on paper, so every item is a single action with a box beside it.
Where they usually go wrong
It has to look like you do this for a living.
A Word file shows the seams: floating tables, mismatched type, spacing you fixed twice.
Template sites make you retype the job into their form.
Twelve fields before you see a page, and the result still looks like their template.
One change and the layout falls apart.
Move a line and the table, the headings, and the footer all need re-fixing.
- A title and a line saying when to use it
- Items phrased as things to do or confirm
- A tick column, so a completed run is visible on paper
- A note of who completed it and when
What each field is for
The fields that keep a checklist usable:
Item
One action per row, phrased so it can be ticked
Done
The box that records the step was checked
Purpose
When to use the checklist, so it is not applied to the wrong job
Notes
Who ran it, when, and anything to follow up
How it works
Describe it
Type what you need in plain language: the client, the line items, the tone. Attach a file if you have one.
Refine by chatting
The agent builds the document with real tables and headings, and you change anything just by asking. A live A4 preview updates as it works.

Make my checklistYou type it, it sets it
Every part of the document is something you can ask for in a sentence. This is a real edit, made on the example above.
One more row in the checklist, with its own tick box.

Questions, answered
Checklist or SOP?
A checklist is ticked off in the moment; an SOP explains the process behind it, with owners and revisions. Use a checklist for a routine task, and an SOP when someone new needs to understand the why, not just the what.
How do I make a checklist?
Give the agent the steps in order, and it lays out a printable A4 checklist with a purpose line, a tick column and a notes line. Edit any item by chatting.
Can I add more items?
Yes. Ask the agent to add or remove rows, and the table grows or shrinks to fit; keep it to a page or split it into sections.
Can it have sections?
Yes. Ask for a subheading before a group of items, and the checklist reads as named sections rather than one long list.
Is it free?
Free to start, no watermark, unlimited exports, around 20 PDFs a month on the free plan.
Turn a process into a checklist
Give the agent the steps in order and keep each one to a single action, so a half-done run is visible.
- Prompt: Create an A4 checklist. Include a title and a one-line purpose, a table with an item and a done column, five items phrased as actions, and a notes line for who completed it and when. Use only the steps I give.
- Check the order of the items, and that each one is a single action.
- The PDF is a printable checklist, not a task app, a shared to-do list, or a workflow tool.
Phrasing items that get ticked
The wording decides whether the list is followed or skimmed:
- Start with a verb: Send, Confirm, File, Check
- One action per row, so a half-done item is obvious
- Keep the list to one page, or split it into named sections
How long does it take to build the checklist?
One short chat: describe what you need, check the live preview, download the PDF. You can keep changing it after that.
Can I bring a document I already have?
Yes. Attach up to four files at a time: images up to 5 MB, PDFs up to 10 MB, or text files up to 200 KB (.txt, .md, .csv, .json). For Word (.docx, not .doc), PDF, Markdown, HTML or LaTeX documents up to 10 MB each, choose ‘Import a document’ from the studio’s attachment menu. The agent rebuilds imports as editable blocks; original formatting may change.
